About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, you'll deliver high-quality tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse client base. You'll ensure accurate tax lodgements, identify planning opportunities, and help clients meet their obligations, all while contributing to a collaborative and efficient tax team. Key responsibilities include
Key Responsibilities will vary depending on your skills and experience, although may include
* Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and other compliance obligations for a variety of clients.
* Support Senior Accountants, Managers, and Directors in delivering advisory services.
* Build strong client relationships and act as their first point of contact for accounting and tax matters.
* Communicate with third parties, including the ATO, lenders, auditors, and other stakeholders.
* Advise on complex tax matters, including CGT, Division 7A, small business concessions, and tax-effective structuring.
* Collaborate with internal teams (advisory, investment, legal, superannuation) to deliver integrated advice.
* Mentor junior staff, review their work, and foster a collaborative team environment.
* Stay up-to-date with changes in tax legislation, rulings, and case law.
* Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce compliance risk.
Skills and Experience
We're looking for an experienced professional with:
* Minimum of 2+ years' experience in public practice and working towards CA, CPA or IPA
* Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax legislation and accounting standards
* Proven ability to manage complex client portfolios
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A commercially minded, proactive approach with strong problem-solving ability
* A collaborative and ethical work style, aligned with a supportive and non-hierarchical culture
