What You Will Be Doing

As a Pathology Collector Reliever, you will be a core team member stepping into shifts to cover scheduled or unplanned absences across various Collection Clinics and hospital environments.

Tasks include collecting blood and non‐blood samples, coordinating specimens, ensuring meticulous records, delivering documentation within strict turnaround times, and packaging specimens for transport and testing.

Daily travel to different ACCs and hospitals within a specific geographical area is required.

Your key responsibilities will include:

* Collecting samples (blood and non‐blood) with care and attention
* Filling available shifts across a geographical area
* Keeping meticulous records for every patient and sample
* Delivering documentation within strict turnaround times
* Preparing and packaging specimens for transport and testing
* Liaising with customers, clinic staff and couriers

What Type Of Person Will Be Successful

You should be an experienced Pathology Collector, hold a Cert III in Pathology Collection or be keen to start a career in Pathology Collection. Registered Nurses seeking regular daytime shifts instead of weekend and overnight work may also apply.

Attributes & Skills

* Demonstrated experience and knowledge in phlebotomy, Certificate III in Pathology Collection or a healthcare background
* Excellent customer service and communication skills with high empathy
* Organised with strong time‐management and attention to detail
* Ability to work autonomously, sometimes independently in a solo clinic
* Valid driver's licence and flexibility to travel to multiple clinics
* Working with Children's Check holder or willingness to obtain one
* Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen or holder of a valid visa with permission to work
* Willingness to travel to varying clinics and hospitals as needed

A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required for this role. You must either hold an existing WWCC or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing employment.

Vaccination Requirements

* Vaccine‐preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is required.
* Additional vaccinations may be required based on location and setting.
