Responsibilities
Major Accountabilities/Principal Responsibilities:
We are recruiting a Graduate Trainee for our Financing & Advisory Group in Sydney, Australia. The role involves supporting origination and execution activities across structured finance transactions, particularly within the Battery, Mining & Industries sector across Australia and New Zealand. The candidate will collaborate with other business lines such as Infrastructure, Digital, Energy & Renewables, and Real Estate. This is a great opportunity to build regional and global relationships within a fast-paced, results-oriented, and diverse organization.
Primary responsibilities include:
1. Developing financial models for advisory mandates, including bespoke models, scenario analysis, documentation, and audits.
2. Reviewing financial models for lending mandates to support financial analysis, credit applications, and due diligence.
3. Providing daily transaction support and managing internal business processes.
4. Structuring and pricing credit applications.
5. Updating databases, writing memos, and managing financial data within internal systems.
6. Identifying marketing opportunities and preparing pitch and presentation materials, including financial analysis and feasibility studies.
7. Building a network of contacts with clients and prospects.
8. Staying informed about developments in the Battery, Mining & Industries sector and market transactions.
9. Working effectively in a team and demonstrating commitment to Societe Generale’s core values.
Profile required
Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge:
* University degree in Finance, Engineering, Business, Commerce, Law, or related fields.
* Postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
* No prior work experience necessary; banking or finance experience is advantageous.
* Strong numerical skills with understanding of accounting, financial statements, and cash flows.
* Financial modeling skills are essential.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Office suite.
