Sprout Scientific (Growth for good.) is a local business consultancy which aims to support small & medium businesses with the challenges of their early growth phase.
Typically, we assist our clients with grant applications to secure financial support (including the R&D Tax Incentive program, Energy Efficiency Grants, MVP Ventures Program and many others). We also work to match our clients with these opportunities and assist with financial modelling, project planning, and business process automation. At Sprout, we want to build an ethical client base of innovation-driven companies with a positive mission statement, who aim for impact in any domain or industry (especially social, health or environmental).

Opportunity
We are looking for a talented writer to join our Business and Incentives Consulting team as a casual employee. The work will consist of writing scientific reports and applications for federal, state, local government and institutional/community grants, ensuring we put the best foot forward for our clients and maximise their chance of success.
Workload will be ~3 days per week, with the opportunity to stay on after a 3-month trial period; this will be dependent on our workload, your performance and culture-fit, etc. There may also be the opportunity to move up to a 5 day per week role in the future.

Enjoys writing about a wide range of topics and takes pride in your written work.
Is an excellent communicator, comfortable talking to people from across industries and responds well to constructive feedback.
Is an Illawarra local and has some experience writing either professionally, academically or as an enthusiast.
Is happy to adopt our various web-based business processes and internal communication tools.
Enjoys researching new concepts and can adapt to the topic at hand.
Has either a solid technical background (Engineering/IT/Science); or
A technical mind with an interest in science and technology, as many of our clients are using advanced systems and software (e.g. machine learning); or
Previous experience in grant preparation for social/arts/environmental projects.
