We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner to support families navigating post-separation conflict. In this role, you will work closely with clients to help them reach practical, sustainable agreements, with a strong focus on child wellbeing and safety. You will manage the mediation process end-to-end, including conducting intake and risk assessments, facilitating pre-mediation sessions, and leading joint discussions. This role requires a thoughtful, person-centred approach and the ability to work with complex family dynamics, including matters involving trauma and family violence. Key Responsibilities: Provide mediation services to support agreements on parenting, financial, and property matters Conduct intake, risk screening, and suitability assessments Facilitate pre-mediation sessions and joint mediation discussions Apply a range of approaches, including child-inclusive practice Provide information on separation, legal pathways, and support services Make referrals to appropriate external services as needed Manage a caseload and meet service delivery expectations About You: You are a skilled and empathetic practitioner with strong experience in family dispute resolution. You bring a sound understanding of family law, child-focused practice, and the complexities of working with families in conflict. Accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (Attorney-General’s Department register) Relevant tertiary qualifications (Law, Social Work, Social Sciences, or similar – preferred) Demonstrated experience in mediation, assessment, and conflict resolution Strong understanding of domestic and family violence, trauma-informed practice, and mental health Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and manage sensitive situations Requirements: Current Working with Children Check National Police Check Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required
