Sydney Children's Hospitals Network is the largest paediatric health care entity in Australia. We care for thousands of children each year in our hospitals and in their homes — with one purpose in mind — to help young people live their healthiest lives.

In March 2026, The Children's Hospital at Westmead will open a brand new Surgical Short Stay Unit within our state-of-the-art facility. This purpose-built 12-bed unit will care for children undergoing short stay surgery, as well as the initial 24-hour care for high-acuity and complex surgical procedures. We are seeking a highly organised Clinical Support Officer (CSO) to be part of this exciting new service from the ground up. The CSO will provide high-level administrative support to the Nursing Unit Manager and leadership team, supporting daily unit operations, workforce and rostering processes, meeting coordination, reporting and documentation. This role contributes to efficient service delivery and a positive team culture, and is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with clinical leaders in a fast-paced environment while supporting safe, high-quality, child and family centred care

What you'll be doing

The CSO will provide timely and accurate administrative / transactional services for members of the health care team on designated ward(s) / department(s) under the direction of a NUM/Head of department. The CSO will work under broad supervision but will be required to take some independent action. Scope exists for exercising initiative in the application of established work practices and procedures. Decisions affecting the overall functioning and management of the ward / departments remain the responsibility of the NUM/Department Head.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

* Administrative experience working in Health or equivalent
* Demonstrated experience in word processing, excel, iPM and eMR
* Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of the team in a high pressure, high volume work environment
