We are seeking a skilled Category Optimization Specialist to lead our team in driving strategic category management initiatives.
Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to own the detail, lead the strategy, and optimize everything. As a Category Optimization Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying and tapping into direct supply channels from domestic and international markets, managing the supply chain life cycle from sourcing, negotiation, contract management, supplier performance management, risk management, and category management.
You will work closely with individual and internal stakeholders and vendors alike to build quality relationships, drive business growth, and ensure seamless supply chain operations.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Negotiate with suppliers across multiple categories
* Visit suppliers, stakeholders, and sites as required
* Process 'fit for purpose' goods and services aligned with our business operating model
* Provide procurement support to the business in the Authority for Expenditure process
* Assist in the development of and apply best practice systems for the supply chain including freight forwarding, shipping, warehousing, courier management, inventory management, reporting, shipment tracking visibility, and KPIs
* Assist with financial analysis and modeling
* Ensure all health, safety, quality, and environmental standards and legislation are strictly met, ensuring a safe environment for employees, customers, contractors, and visitors, and promptly report any issues, potential issues, or near miss events
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Tertiary qualification in business/commerce preferred
* Significant supply chain experience across multiple categories of spend
* Previous experience in a corporate environment dealing with complex organizational structures
* Experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in remote locations, is an advantage
