About the Role
We are seeking a dependable and experienced
Casual Relief Cook
to provide high-quality meal services to residents across multiple Ingenia Gardens communities in Victoria.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing home-style meals in a community setting and is flexible and willing to travel.
As a Relief Cook, you will step in to cover planned and unplanned leave for our regular cooks.
You'll prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintain kitchen hygiene standards, and ensure residents enjoy a positive dining experience.
Expense reimbursement and accommodation may be provided for longer assignments.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation and Service
Prepare, cook, and serve meals in line with community menus and dietary requirements
Ensure all meals are well-presented, nutritious, and delivered on time
Reduce waste and manage stock efficiently
Monitor and record food temperatures and follow food safety procedures
Cleaning and Sanitation
Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area
Sanitize all kitchen equipment, surfaces, and utensils
Safely handle and store cleaning products using correct PPE
Compliance and Safety
Follow HACCP guidelines and comply with food safety legislation
Wear PPE and follow WHS procedures at all times
Report any incidents, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly
Communication and Teamwork
Interact respectfully and empathetically with residents
Collaborate with community staff to ensure smooth meal service
Maintain professional boundaries and protect resident confidentiality

Qualifications & Requirements
Food Safety Supervisor Accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
National Police Check (current and valid)
C-Class Driver's Licence and own vehicle
First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Knowledge of HACCP and protected food handling practices
