Project Controller / Scheduler – Major Infrastructure Projects
Hourly Rate: $125 - $150 p/h + super
About the Opportunity:
I'm currently working with a leading client in the infrastructure sector who is looking for a highly skilled Project Controller/Scheduler to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major program of works, where you'll play a key role in schedule management, financial reporting, and stakeholder coordination across complex infrastructure delivery.
The Role:
This position sits within a high-performing project team and requires someone with strong scheduling expertise, attention to detail, and confidence managing month-to-month financials. You'll work closely with project and workstream leads, providing insights, reporting, and ensuring seamless coordination between planning, delivery, and commercial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project
- Collaborate with department leads and workstream managers to monitor progress, risks, and dependencies
- Coordinate and update monthly invoicing processes, including allocation and reconciliation
- Track financial performance and forecasts, delivering regular monthly reports
- Support dashboard and performance reporting—Power BI experience is highly desirable
- Provide accurate, timely updates to internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality delivery
What We're Looking For:
- Solid experience working on large infrastructure or capital works projects
- Strong skills in scheduling and project controls using Primavera P6 and MS Project
- Ability to interpret financial data and manage monthly reporting cycles
- Confident communicator with the ability to work across multiple teams and levels
- Exposure to contracts, commercial processes, and stakeholder management
- Familiarity with Power BI or dashboard/reporting tools is a bonus
- A relevant qualification in project management, engineering, or a related discipline
