About the Role BOQ Group are seeking a Senior Analyst - Line 1 Risk professional to join our team as part of our transformation journey to building a stronger, more resilient bank. The role of the Senior Analyst – Line 1 Risk, has the primary accountability of providing support to Management and the 1st Line Risk team in the identification, assessment, mitigation, management and reporting across risks in BOQ's Group functions (People & Culture division, Group Risk division and Group Finance division). This position is essential in promoting a proactive risk culture and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements within the divisions. This role involves working closely with Business Unit stakeholders to provide risk advice and perform activities that ensure that risk management practices are performed in accordance with the BOQ's published standards and guidelines. As our Senior Analyst, you will perform activities to support the design of controls to strengthen BOQ's control environment and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. You will liaise with various stakeholders throughout BOQ Group and will be able to comfortably engage with stakeholders as part of small working groups and at times lead activities across remediation of incidents, issues and control development. About you Our successful candidate will ideally hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field, and professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, or CPA are a plus. You have a proven track record of supporting the development and implementation of risk management frameworks. Your background in financial services or a related industry will also make you well-suited for this role. You have the ability to perform reviews of critical processes, determine root causes, identify control gaps and weaknesses, and find simplification opportunities. Your analytical skills allow you to analyse trends, identify threats and opportunities, diagnose issues, and recommend appropriate actions. Additionally, you bring strong organisational, project management, and problem-solving skills to the table. Your understanding of risk management principles and practices is robust, and you excel in both analytical and problem-solving tasks. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are among your strengths, and you are adept at managing projects and organizing tasks efficiently.
