Job Description
SGS is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the team in Kalgoorlie. This role plays a key part in ensuring our equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably in a dynamic laboratory environment. This is not a FIFO position, the successful candidate is required to be based in Kalgoorlie.
Responsibilities include however, not limited to
· Undertake breakdown and scheduled repairs to Electrical and mechanical equipment
· Examining technical blueprints, electrical wiring diagrams and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation.
· Measuring and laying out installation reference points for electrical equipment for sites.
· Selecting the required electrical cables, cutting and connecting wire and cable to terminals and connectors, also ensuring the required safety protocols are followed at all times.
· Using electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults and be able to repair the fault.
· Repairing and replacing faulty wiring and defective parts.
· Positioning and installing electrical switchboards.
· Connecting electrical systems to power supply.
· Testing continuity of circuit.
· Installing, testing and adjusting electric and mechanical parts of all equipment, crushers, mills, extraction equipment etc.
· Troubleshoot problems and work together with laboratory staff to achieve long term solutions
· Analyze and identify areas of improvement for all equipment and conduct preventative maintenance.
· Undertake projects to improve the process and reliability of automated equipment.
· Document and analyse all work to improve workplace efficiency
· At times provide support to remote sites.
· Maintain EDB and update after scheduled or un-scheduled maintenance.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
· Must have a good understanding of Electrical equipment and some knowledge of machanical equipment
· An understanding and experience electrical cable installation and requirements
· Be able to show a past experience of using root cause analysis and examples of delivering solutions to complex problems
· Ability to be presented with any piece of equipment, And go about its repair in a routine manner
· Basic welding and fabrication skills
· Must be reliable, self-motivated and have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
· Develop Self and Others as well as superior results
