We are seeking a **Work Place Health, Safety & Environment Officer**, to join our team in **South Australia.**

The incumbent will be accountable to the General Manager SA Assets and will be primarily based at the Pelican Point Power Station at Outer Harbor, with regular travel to other South Australian Assets.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Work Place Health, Safety & Environment Officer will be accountable for the implementation of ENGIE in Australia's policies, procedures, including monitoring, auditing, reporting, advisory, supervisory and day-to-day coordination of WHS&E program across its South Australian generation portfolio.
- Ensure that the WHS&E Management System and Management Plans are implemented and function according to purpose, whilst monitoring and reporting on achievements of KPIs and targets.
- Conduct WHS audits, safety behavioural program and discuss improvements and formalise implementation plan. Identify, recommend, develop and implement plant and process safety improvements.
- Manage National Pollutant Inventory reporting for the Assets and the National Greenhouse and Energy reporting program.
- Prepare annual environmental performance report to ENGIE Group. Assist and take lead in environmental reporting requirements to the SA EPA for all SA assets.
- Provide advice on various safety-related matters pertaining to ENGIE SA assets operations.
- Conduct and review risk register and risk assessments and ensure preventative control measures are implemented
- Foster and develop an excellent safety culture on site through proactive and positive intervention with personnel at the various sites.
- Have a constant and positive interaction with the Regulators, Councils and other external regulatory agencies.

**About You**

Knowledge of WHS&E legislation and standards in power industry and of the legislative requirements required for self-managing organization.

A thorough understanding of Australian and applicable International Standards affecting the power generation or associated industries.

You possess a Graduate/Diploma Qualification in WHS&E or equivalent with additional qualification in technical field / chemical process will be desirable.
