Role Overview
The Hills Shire Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join as a Principal Coordinator – Financial Planning. The role involves providing advice on planning proposals and voluntary planning agreements, developing the Council’s long-term financial plan, and offering financial insights to Senior Management and Council regarding projections and analysis. It also offers opportunities to engage in special projects and expand your skills.
Main Responsibilities
Manage and review financial models, scenario analysis, and projected cash flows, applying Net Present Value principles to determine contribution rates.
Develop, monitor, review, and update the Council’s Contribution plans.
Provide financial evaluations and advice on planning agreements and proposals.
Review and finalize the Long Term Financial Plans, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flows.
Conduct sensitivity analyses to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Prepare year-end notes related to Assets, Developer Contributions, and Voluntary Planning Agreements.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders such as IPART, auditors, and government agencies.
Prepare submissions on financial matters as required.
Candidate Requirements
Degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field.
Membership with CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia.
