 
        
        About the Role
The Senior Planning Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of safe, secure social housing to Queenslanders who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Through collaborative partnerships, this position provides town planning services and advice for the development of a large property portfolio aligned with the Queensland Housing Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
 * Housing Development Opportunities
 o Create opportunities through state, regional, and local planning processes to advance housing choice and affordability.
 * Town Planning Analysis
 o Conduct thorough town planning analysis and research to assess site development potential based on planning scheme and site conditions.
 * Social Housing Projects
 o Provide expert advice on social housing projects using departmental processes and procedures for compliance with the Planning Act 2016 and other relevant legislation.
 * Place-Based Analysis
 o Conduct place-based analysis and research to identify local renewal and redevelopment opportunities.
 * Regional Partnerships
 o Foster engagement and partnerships with State agencies and Local Government Authorities during statutory regional plan preparation and review.
 * Legislative Impact Assessment
 o Analyse the impact of legislation, regional plans, and government infrastructure priorities on the State's housing property portfolio.
Mandatory Requirements:
A tertiary qualification in town/urban planning is highly regarded but not mandatory.
