We are seeking a dynamic Category Manager to join our Procurement team. Reporting into the Senior Category Manager, this role will manage indirect & marketing categories such as POS print management, packaging design, creative & content agencies, photography. The role will be responsible for all aspects of category spend and support the development and execution of category best practices.
* Establishing the category strategic direction and commercial outcomes as a trusted partner to the business
* Managing internal & external resources effectively to support, develop and execute category plans that produce the desired business results
* Sourcing strategy definition, deployment and stakeholder alignment
* Total cost of ownership strategy development with support from Senior Category Manager and the relevant category and sub-category strategic plans and priorities
* Identifying opportunities and realizing value through effective use of strategic cost management tools
* Tracking forecasted vs. actual savings according to the Coles Value Tracking Process for categories in scope
Success in this role will be achieving or exceeding annual efficiency targets set against category plans. This requires advanced commercial skills including negotiation, 'should cost' modeling, financial analysis and risk & contract management.
Requirements
* Related tertiary qualification, ideally with Commerce, Legal or Marketing
* Strong procurement experience at a category manager level, ideally within the indirect categories or industries listed above
* Demonstrated experience in sourcing, project management, data analysis and negotiations
* Influence stakeholders with persuasive recommendations and arguments, underpinned with strong oral and written communication skills
* Competent in ARIBA, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and e-procurement tools/systems
