Casual Support Workers / Mentors (NDIS) – Urgent Shifts Available
Position Overview
We are currently seeking casual support workers and contractors to fill ongoing shifts (urgent requirement) supporting NDIS participants within the community.
The role involves assisting participants with social and community access, as well as daily living and personal care tasks. We are looking for experienced, compassionate workers who are committed to providing high-quality, person-centred support.
About the Role
Hours will vary depending on the needs of each individual participant. You will be supporting people across a range of age groups, with a strong focus on children and young people.
Your role may include:
* Supporting participants to access community, recreational and social activities
* Assisting with daily living and household tasks
* Providing mentoring and positive role modelling, particularly for younger participants developing life skills
* Assisting with personal care and self-care tasks
* Supporting participants to work towards their NDIS goals
* Maintaining accurate progress notes and records
* Assisting participants with transport to activities and appointments
Essential Requirements
* Experience supporting individuals with high care needs, including hoist use and manual handling
* Experience supporting people experiencing mental health challenges
* Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
* NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow Card)
* Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Modules
* Open “C” Class Driver’s Licence
* Sound computer, written and verbal communication skills
* Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Highly Desirable
* Previous experience working with NDIS participants
* Relevant qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or Support Work
