The Far West Coast Aboriginal Corporation (FWCAC) manages the Far West Coast land, legally recognized as belonging to the Far West Coast Aboriginal Peoples through the Federal Court Determination for Native Title on December 5, 2013. The corporation represents six cultural groups in the Far West Coast region, ensuring equal representation and cultural authority. FWCAC works towards unified management of their land and native title rights, promoting the legacy of collaboration established by these cultural groups.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Corporate Services Manager located in Ceduna, SA. The Corporate Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of corporate services, including finance, administration, human resources, and compliance. The role involves managing staff, developing and implementing policies and procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic support to the executive team. The Corporate Services Manager will also liaise with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and service delivery.
Qualifications
Essential
· High level management skills in business operations and people management.
· Financial skills and experience, including analyzing balance sheets, income and expense statements.
· Use and understanding of financial systems such as XERO for data entry and timesheet management.
· Understanding of HR principles and how they apply in the workplace.
· Experience in policy development, procedures, and compliance.
· Clerical skills: report writing, records management, administration.
· Experience and ability to effectively manage payroll preparation.
· Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
· Ability to communicate at a high standard: presentation, negotiation and mediation skills with a range of people.
· Personal qualities of confidence, assertiveness, motivation, and the ability to effectively manage workloads against competing priorities under limited supervision.
· Ability to work constructively with business partners and Board Directors.
· Demonstrated cultural sensitivity.
· Ability to exercise appropriate levels of professional judgement in decision-making.
· Knowledge of governance standards and meeting procedures.
· Ability to manage staff workloads and support administrative staff.
· Ability to respond appropriately in interactions with FWCAC membership.
Desirable
· Extensive experience in developing commercial operations.
· Experience in a senior HR role.
· Experience in working with Aboriginal people and in remote areas.
· A good working knowledge of the native title system, land use agreements, and agreement making processes and a willingness to expand this knowledge.
