About the opportunity
As our Retail Customer Service Officer, you’ll play an important part in helping Australians service their own businesses, keeping millions of people connected and building community resilience. Every year, around one million customers visit our Australia Post Offices. Our retail teams ensure each experience is positive. They are supported by a welcoming team, receive ongoing training, and have access to career development opportunities.
* This casual role starts at $33.66 / hour for approximately 3 months, increasing to $35.98 / hour + 12% Superannuation. (Junior rates apply to those under 21 during training).
* Extensive, supportive (paid) training on commencement, Monday - Friday, for up to 12 weeks, approximately 4 hours/day on a rotating roster.
* Training includes back-of-house sorting duties where additional hours may be available.
* This role will be “ on call ” casual after training, with shifts across Monday - Friday, between 6 am and 5.06 pm .
You'll be:
* Performing customer sales and service transactions
* Managing high-value transactions accurately (handling cash, cheques, credit cards, EFTPOS)
* Conducting identity services transactions, including Australian Passport Interviews
* Promoting products and services through up-selling, cross-selling, merchandising, and promotional activities
* Assisting customers with mail lodgements and related costs
* Building rewarding relationships by understanding customer needs
* Assisting with administrative duties such as stocktaking and record maintenance
About you
You’re friendly, enthusiastic, reliable, and enjoy working in a team. You prioritize customer service to make a positive community impact. You will also need to:
* Have experience in fast-paced customer service and/or cash handling
* Be able to lift up to 16kg of mail regularly and stand for your shift
