Lead the future of building structures in Australia's most transformative infrastructure projects.
We're seeking a Principal Buildings Structures Engineer to join our Cities & Places team in Sydney. This is a pivotal leadership role for a seasoned engineer with deep expertise in building structures and a passion for delivering complex infrastructure projects.
As a Principal Buildings Structures Engineer, you will lead by example driving successful project outcomes for both internal and external clients. Working closely with Project Managers, Design Managers, and Discipline Leads, you'll be part of the project delivery leadership team, inspiring innovation, outstanding delivery and excellence in client service. You'll ensure projects meet commercial targets while fostering a culture of care, collaboration, and wellbeing. You'll support and guide a team of engineers and modellers, contributing to the ANZ structural engineering leadership team and leading regional improvement initiatives. You'll oversee project performance across key metrics including program, quality, sustainability, and budget while monitoring team utilisation and identifying growth opportunities. With a strong pipeline of work and anticipated team expansion in NSW, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of our regional capability.
You'll also contribute to strategic bids, represent Jacobs as an industry leader in building structures and promote cross-geography collaboration through our Global Integrated Delivery model. Your leadership will extend to mentoring team members, supporting their career development and driving innovation in digital engineering practices.
Here's what you'll need
We're looking for a technically strong and future-focused lead with
* A Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent, with relevant professional registrations.
* Extensive experience in building structures, particularly in large-scale infrastructure projects such as high-rise buildings, hospitals, and ideally but not essential some experience in Transport
* Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* A strategic mindset with a passion for growth, talent development, and continuous improvement.
