Our Children, Youth and Families (CYF) services deliver child protection, youth justice, outreach, and family support programs. We are looking for passionate applicants who want to help others achieve their personal goals.

About the Program

The Intensive Foster Care and High Plus Programs delivered by Anglicare Southern Queensland provide additional support to young people in foster or kinship care placements that may be experiencing challenges.

The programs focus on supporting carers and young people through practical assistance, therapeutic support, and access to relevant services to help maintain stable care arrangements and positive outcomes.


About the Role


As a Youth Worker with Anglicare Southern Queensland, you will support children and young people in foster or kinship care. This includes providing care and supervision during shifts, supporting daily routines and life skills development, and engaging young people in positive activities.

You will work alongside practitioners to support case goals, respond appropriately to behavioural or crisis situations, and maintain a trauma-informed approach to care.

This is a Casual servicing our Gympie Region. Pay rate starting at: $48.316

Shift times are typically between 2pm and 6pm, with most shifts occurring after school and on weekends.

During shifts, you will act as the primary caregiver, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of young people in care while supporting routines and building essential life skills. You will also collaborate with the Coordinator and Service Manager to support trauma-informed interventions for young people with complex needs.

Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements
A Certificate IV or higher qualification in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Services, Community Services, or a related field.Current National Police Check.Current Blue Card.Current Licensed Care Service (LCS).Completion of Hope and Healing Framework training.Current Queensland Drivers Licence.The ability to provide two recent referees of supervisors.About You
Ability to engage children and youth in purposeful activities to enhance life skills.Proactive communicator and relationship builder with others from diverse backgrounds.Utilize trauma-informed approach in understanding child development and behaviour.Capability to recognize the role of family dynamics, particularly in child protection contexts.Supportive of youth in activities and foster independent living skills.Effectively Contributor to team outcomes.Ability to operate autonomously while seeking guidance as needed.Able Respond to crises flexibly, considering risk and compliance.Understand of provision of care in accordance with the Child Protection Act 1999.
