Workflow & Training Specialist
January Start
Surry Hills
6 month contract
We're seeking a highly skilled Workflow & Training Specialist to take ownership of how our editorial teams work, learn, and create. This contract role offers the opportunity to shape the operational backbone behind some of Australia's most influential content — transforming complex, multi-platform workflows into clear, intuitive processes and world-class training.
As the Knowledge & Workflow Specialist, you'll work closely with editors, content creators, product teams, and platform specialists to map end-to-end workflows, build a centralised knowledge repository, and deliver engaging training that drives consistency, efficiency, and excellence across every stage of content production.
If you're passionate about process design, knowledge management, and empowering teams through clear documentation and dynamic training — this is a high-impact opportunity to elevate the way our newsroom works from the ground up.
What's the role?
* Capture, document, and map end-to-end editorial workflows across planning, content management, and multi-platform publishing.
* Design and deliver engaging training programs (face-to-face, virtual, and group) to onboard new starters and upskill existing staff.
* Build and maintain a centralised, user-friendly workflow repository with strong search and accessibility features.
* Collaborate with editors, content creators, and platform specialists to ensure processes are accurate, consistent, and aligned with organisational standards.
* Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency, using feedback, data, and training outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
Who are you?
* Experienced in workflow documentation and process mapping, ideally within a content, editorial, or digital production environment.
* Skilled in delivering engaging training across formats — one-on-one, classroom, and virtual sessions.
* Confident designing and managing user-friendly knowledge repositories, with a strong focus on structure, searchability, and accessibility.
* An exceptional communicator who can translate complex technical processes into simple, actionable steps.
* Organised, detail-driven, and proactive, with the ability to juggle multiple projects while spotting opportunities to streamline and improve processes.
