About the Role
As a Trainer and Assessor, you will deliver specialised training in corrections, onshore immigration and offshore immigration, while ensuring compliance with national training standards. You will deliver training programs like incident response, de-escalation, emergency response, and aviation escort training.
You will report directly to the Manager of Training Operations, and work alongside a diverse group of trainers with various specialties in corrections and law enforcement. Our team includes Lead and Senior Trainers with extensive backgrounds in corrections and law enforcement, and you'll receive mentorship and support in developing your training skills.
As part of your role, you will :
Deliver accredited training in correctional operations, refresher training, incident response, transport & escort and aviation escort using modern learning technologies (e-learning, online platforms).
Develop training materials and resources for frontline correctional and immigration detention staff, ensuring they meet MTC, TSS, and ASQA standards.
Administer assessments and provide detailed feedback to students on their progress, ensuring training outcomes align with industry standards.
Travel interstate for training sessions. There is also the potential for international travel to Nauru as part of training delivery to support MTC's global operations.
To be successful, you will :
* Hold a Cert IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent AND a Cert III in Correctional Practice or Immigration Detention Operations (or both).
* Minimum of 2 years of experience delivering training in correctional facilities or immigration detention centres.
* Hold a current First Aid and CPR certification (or willing to obtain).
* Currently or previously have worked within an immigration centre.
