Ability Assist is hiring Youth Residential Support Workers to work in a Northeastern and Western suburb of Melbourne, focusing on NDIS participants with complex needs. The role involves supporting young people in their homes and communities, promoting independence and well-being. Key Responsibilities
* Provide support and engagement to young people with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
* Assist young people in developing independence and improving their quality of life.
* Encourage participation in activities based on their interests and goals.
* Ensure the safety and well-being of young people.
* Attend to domestic duties, including meal preparation and cleaning and personal care.
* Transport clients to activities and services.
* Attend team meetings.
Requirements
* Requirement is for female support workers.
* Flexibility to work various shifts across a 24/7 period, 7 days a week.
* Experience working with young people living with disability and displaying complex needs and challenging behaviours.
* Experience working in residential care is preferable.
* Ability to undertake the required DFFH and NDIS note taking and reporting requirements is essential.
* Must meet all relevant legislative requirements to work in our industry.
* Certificate IV in Children Youth and Family, and the 4 Top up units.
