We have an exciting opportunity available for a motivated Assistant Site Manager/2IC to play an integral part in the day-to-day running of our busy grain storage site. This is a permanent, full-time role based at site in Grong Grong NSW.

The Role
* Providing direction on health and safety procedures, training, and coordinate staff rostering and supervision of the work team, including seasonal harvest workers
* Connecting and communicating with growers and customers
* Protecting and storing grain in bunkers or permanent silo storage (includes building, breaking-down and tarping bunkers)
* Sampling grain received and training grain handlers on sampling processes
* Receiving grain deliveries at the weighbridge and ensuring the accurate records of weights received are kept
* Operating equipment including front end loader and bucket elevator
* Routine and ad-hoc hygiene activities that are critical to site cleanliness standards
* Assisting the site manager in the day to day running of the site
The Person
* Qualification relevant to the role or significant, demonstrated experience in a similar role
* Current drivers' licence
* A solid understanding of work health and safety, quality assurance and continuous improvement processes
* Ability to mentor workers and provide clear instruction and direction
* Strong attention to detail and highly developed written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to lead a team in an environment with concentrated workload in seasonal periods
* Dedicated, self-starter who works well in a dynamic environment – willing to show initiative to improve current processes
* Competent in Confined space, work at heights and chemical handling (advantageous)
