About Uniting Bowden Brae
Set amongst peaceful bushland surrounds in Normanhurst, Uniting Bowden Brae is home to both a welcoming aged care residence and a vibrant retirement living community.
This unique site brings together residents, families and staff in a calm, community-focused environment where safety, presentation and comfort truly matter. Our Maintenance team plays a vital role in ensuring the buildings, grounds and shared spaces remain safe, functional and inviting for everyone who calls Bowden Brae home.
From time to time, you may also support one of our nearby Uniting facilities located within 15 minutes of the site, using a company vehicle.
About the Role
We're seeking a hands-on and dependable Maintenance Officer / Tradesperson to support both the aged care and retirement living services based at Bowden Brae.
This is a
full-time weekday role with no weekend work

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment, playing an important role in keeping our services safe, well-maintained and welcoming for residents, staff and visitors.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, varied work, takes pride in their environment, and values being part of a close-knit community.
What You'll Be Doing
* Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the site
* Responding promptly to maintenance requests and safety matters
* Maintaining buildings, equipment, gardens and common areas
* Ensuring all work is completed in line with WHS requirements
* Communicating respectfully with residents, families and colleagues
* Supporting asset management through accurate reporting and documentation
* Occasionally travelling to nearby Uniting sites (within 15 minutes) using a company vehicle
What You'll Bring
* Experience in maintenance, facilities or a general handyperson role
* A sound understanding of workplace health and safety
* Trade qualification (desirable but not essential)
* A practical, solutions-focused approach
* Good communication skills and basic computer literacy
* A current NSW Driver's Licence
Desirable Experience
* Maintenance experience in aged care, retirement living or community services
* Familiarity with maintenance systems (CMMS) — training provided
