In this role, you'll:
Perform construction, maintenance and manual labouring tasks using plant and equipment and powered and non-powered hand tools.
Undertake road construction and maintenance activities which may include, but not limited to, widening & barrier installs, enhanced road pavements, overtaking lanes and heavy patching works.
Travel throughout the region to attend worksites including attending call outs where required.
You'll be working within a work crew consisting of a team leader, road workers and plant operators to undertake road maintenance and construction activities across our state network.
You will undertake a range of duties to support the efficient construction and maintenance of road infrastructure within New South Wales, including but not limited to:
maintenance of established pavements
construction of new or enhanced pavements
general labour for
establishment and maintenance of roadside fixtures and signage
application of bituminous sealing materials
Vegetation management including brush cutting, removing trees and trimming branches.
Incident response and removal of immediate hazards to road users.
Cleaning drainage structures
Road Workers are provided with thorough training and opportunities to develop professionally.
This is a permanent full-time position based in Lithgow & Bowenfels. You will live within 100 km travel distance of the works depot.

About You
Your strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude formed across any sector or through life experience will see you thrive in this role, where being flexible, safety-focused and ready for physical work are key.
You're recognised as a team player who takes initiative, skilled at getting the job done safely and efficiently, and willing to learn on the job.
Previous road or construction experience is great but not essential—we're looking for the right attitude and commitment. Similarly, holding a truck licence is advantageous (not essential).
Essential requirements:
Current Construction Industry White Card
Current Class C driver licence
Ability or willingness to gain Traffic Controller cards within 3 months
Must live within 100 km travel distance of the Bowenfels works depot
Be prepared to work outside normal working hours, attend callouts, travel across the district and work away from home when needed
