We are looking for a highly skilled Auto Electricians and Motor Mechanics with Land Rover and European vehicles experience for our client in Geraldton, WA. These are full time positions with an immediate start.
As a specialist regional town motor mechanic you must be able to attend to the following independently:
- General servicing, fault finding, diagnosis, warranty repairs, recalls, service actions
- Repairs & Overhauls to Land Rover & other automotive vehicles: Examines vehicle & discusses with service manager. Answering technical questions & offering advice to customers
- Plans work procedure, using charts, technical manuals, & experience
- Raises vehicle using hydraulic jack or hoist to gain access to mechanical units bolted to the underside of the vehicle
- Removes unit & inspects parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers & thickness gauges
- Repairs or replaces parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves & bearings using specialist hand tools
- Rebuild parts such as crankshafts, cylinder blocks, using lathes, shapers, drill presses & welding equipment
- Diagnostic tracing of fault codes and repair of traced fault
- Repairing and replacing faulty wiring or electrical systems
- Servicing of electrical automotive parts
- Dismantling of engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other component for rebuilding or repair.
- Testing of vehicle under driving conditions after repairs have been completed
The successful applicants must have:
- Hold a current relevant industry Motor Mechanic/Auto Electrician Trade Certificate or equivalent
- At least 1 year of relevant employment experience
- Knowledge and experience in servicing and maintenance of Japanese/European made vehicles as well as other vehicles (Including 4WDs)
- Good diagnostic skills on specific brands
- Proven ability to work in a fast paced setting and under pressure
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Manufacturer training and experience is essential
