Are you passionate about education and enabling students to succeed? We are seeking a Lecturer/Tutor to join our team for the University Preparatory Program (UPP).
This program provides tuition-free preparation for students requiring further academic and discipline-specific preparation before commencing a bachelor degree. Our students come from diverse backgrounds, including domestic low SES, EALD, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, ex-professionals looking for a career change, and recent school leavers.
We aim to provide avenues into higher education for non-traditional students, ensuring they become well-suited to enter a bachelor degree successfully. This role would suit qualified and experienced teachers or lecturers looking to work in the higher education environment and have a key understanding of, and passion for, enabling education, widening participation, and access to educational opportunities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and developing course materials for the following course: Reasoning with Numbers: Statistical Literacy. This course is a pathway to several bachelor degrees, including Bachelor of Psychological Sciences, Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Finance & Banking, Bachelor of Economics, and Bachelor of Health & Medical Sciences.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have strong content knowledge in statistical literacy and pedagogical practices that cater to enabling students' requirements. A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) is also required.
