Culinary Expert Wanted
We are seeking an experienced and skilled culinary professional to join our team as a chef. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for planning menus, managing food and labour costs, and ensuring the quality and presentation of dishes at every stage of preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing menus in collaboration with management
* Managing food and labour costs, and ordering supplies accordingly
* Monitoring dish quality and presentation
* Discussing food preparation procedures with managers and staff
* Demonstrating culinary techniques and advising team members on cooking procedures
* Preparing a variety of Italian dishes
* Ensuring compliance with hygiene and food safety regulations
* Leading and training kitchen staff
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Minimum qualification: AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in Commercial Cookery or a related field (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
* Proven experience working as a chef in a commercial kitchen (preferably 2+ years)
* Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management
* Ability to manage time and resources efficiently in a high-pressure environment
* Team leadership and supervisory skills
* Passion for high-quality, consistent food and customer satisfaction
