Senior Associate – Employment and Industrial Relations

Brighton Search is partnering with a leading, internationally recognised law firm to appoint a Senior Associate into its highly regarded Employment & Industrial Relations practice in Sydney.

The role offers the chance to step into a visible leadership position, work closely with highly regarded partners, and play a meaningful role in shaping the continued growth of the practice.

The Opportunity
You will advise major corporates, government bodies and institutional clients across the full spectrum of employment and industrial relations matters, including:
* Workforce strategy and enterprise bargaining negotiations
* Industrial disputes and industrial action
* Complex employment litigation and advisory matters
* General protections, unfair dismissal and adverse action claims
* Employment aspects of significant M&A and major projects
* Workplace investigations and compliance frameworks
* Payroll, discrimination, safety and regulatory issues
* Engagement with workplace and safety regulators
* Representation before the Fair Work Commission and superior courts
You will run matters with autonomy, mentor junior lawyers and contribute strategically to the development of the Sydney practice, while collaborating closely with a nationally integrated team.

About You
You will be a high-performing Employment & IR lawyer with:
* Demonstrated experience across both advisory and contentious employment matters
* Strong technical capability and sound commercial judgment
* Experience advising sophisticated corporate or institutional clients
* Excellent drafting, advocacy and stakeholder management skills
* A collaborative mindset and long-term commitment to private practice
* Admission to practise in Australia (preferred), New Zealand, or another Commonwealth jurisdiction
