The role of Senior Environmental Officer is to provide environmental management advice and guidance to enable the North West District to meet the Government's environmental obligations and commitments. The role plays an integral part in providing environmental technical advice for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of transport infrastructure projects.

What We Are Looking For
In the role of Senior Environmental Officer, some of your responsibilities will include:
The ability to conduct environmental assessments in alignment with established policies and processes, while also providing basic environmental management advice. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our transportation projects have minimal impact on the surrounding ecosystems. A strong customer focus, which enables you to understand and meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholders. Building and maintaining positive relationships will be a key aspect of your role. Demonstrated skills in building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders. Your ability to collaborate and engage with individuals and organisations will be essential in promoting effective environmental management practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You should be adept at conveying complex information in a clear and concise manner, as well as preparing reports and reviewing documentation with meticulous attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will encounter various challenges in your role as an Environmental Officer, and your ability to think critically and find practical solutions will be invaluable.
To Succeed In This Role, You Will Possess
A Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, or an equivalent field. Your educational background will provide you with the foundation to understand and contribute to environmental assessments and management. Current holder of a Class C driver licence. Must be eligible to work in Australia. It is a condition of employment for recommended appointee/s to disclose any previous serious discipline action taken against them for consideration by the delegate prior to any appointment.
