Join Compass Group Australia’s Foodbuy Division Compass Group Australia is seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Senior Manager – Retail Business to lead the development and execution of a national retail strategy across diverse sectors. Reporting to the Executive Director of Foodbuy, this critical leadership role will shape the future of consumer revenue generation across our operations. About the Role As the national subject matter expert in retail for Compass Group Australia, you will own and lead the retail business strategy, with a clear focus on growth, innovation, and operational excellence. With a goal of delivering over $200 million in consumer revenue, you will manage a small, high-performing team and collaborate across sectors, supply chain, procurement, and on-site operations to bring best-in-class retail solutions to life. Your Key Responsibilities Develop and continuously refine a national retail strategy aligned to multi-sector business goals. Lead the execution of growth initiatives across F&B outlets, vending, taverns, kiosks, and small-format retail stores. Partner with national and international suppliers to bring innovation and efficiency to CGA’s retail offering. Manage key retail levers including pricing, product mix, inventory, systems, and consumer engagement strategies. Oversee consumer experience initiatives, including event activations, in-store promotions, and service innovation. Ensure robust commercial management including analytics, reporting, forecasting, and budget performance. Lead and inspire the Retail Services team, promoting a high-performance culture and continuous improvement. About You You’re an experienced and visionary retail leader who can balance strategy, innovation, and operational detail. You bring deep commercial acumen and a track record of delivering high-value retail outcomes at scale. To succeed in this role, you’ll bring: 10 years of experience in commercial retail operations, ideally across multi-site, service-based environments. Proven success in developing and executing large-scale consumer sales strategies with YoY revenue growth. Expertise in FMCG, F&B, and emerging retail channels such as eCommerce, mCommerce, and frictionless solutions. Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and collaborating across executive-level stakeholders. Experience managing retail revenues of $200M, with focus on innovation, consumer behaviour, and profitability. Strategic understanding of consumer demographics and behavioural trends to shape sales and marketing decisions.
