Green Light are looking for a System Administrator to join our Sydney delivery team on an exciting and challenging infrastructure transformation. Strong systems administration and engineering experience is essential in this role.
Playing a key part in delivering within this cross skilled environment, it is imperative that you focus on the delivery of infrastructure monitoring and administration across a broad technical platform.
This role will be responsible for innovative and industry defining systems solutions to meet business and IT strategy nationally and globally for our end customer.
The ideal person will be an experienced Systems Administrator with a proven track record with large systems integrators onsite for large enterprise environments.
Responsibilities:
* Is responsible for maintaining the ongoing reliability, performance and support of the systems environment. Monitors systems, responds to problems and plans for growth.
* You will oversee a highly available Microsoft environment and to mitigate latency issues of the organisation.
* Responsible for the support, maintenance and monitoring of a predominately Wintel, VMWare environment
* Providing level 1 & 2 desktop support for a large team of developers – Windows & Apple laptops
* Creates Change plans. Evaluates and integrates new hardware configurations and provides support of client technologies on mainframe platforms and peripherals.
* Responsible for backup (Commvault), DELL tape library and endpoint security (McAfee, MS Defender & Symantec) as well as Cisco & DELL switches
* Responds to work requests regarding installation, configuration and/or maintenance of client software and the deployment of new technology releases, troubleshooting, and software repair.
* Configure systems to specifications provided – Disks, Tapes, TCP/IP, IRS/OSM, System Software subsystems, etc., OS upgrades.
* Engage with Vendor for hardware & software problem resolution, New hardware installation, Routine preventative maintenance, etc.
* Daily system monitoring including system logs analyses, proactive problem detection and remediation
Requirements:
* Minimum five (5) years in a similar capacity as a Systems Administrator / Engineer
* Strong Windows Server & VMware system administration skills.
* Office 365 admin experience.
* Has moderate troubleshooting skills and must understand local/wide area networking and server hardware/software.
* Networking knowledge and understanding (routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, VLAN, DNS etc)
* Applies moderate technical ability to modify jobs, models, processes, network definitions, and documentation.
* Utilizes functional knowledge of job flow process to request changes to production schedule for file transmissions.
* Works across all functional areas of the enterprise and uses a strong customer services orientation to ensure that all requests and problems are resolved.
