Position Summary
Restoration Technician | Brisbane – Join a well‐established, family‐owned restoration business in Brisbane in a full‐time, field‐based role where no two days are the same. Working across residential and commercial properties, you will be hands‐on in the assessment, mitigation, and restoration of properties affected by water, fire, smoke, mould, and storm damage. The role suits someone who takes pride in their craft, communicates confidently with clients during stressful situations, and consistently delivers high‐quality outcomes on every job.
Responsibilities
* Water extraction, structural drying, and moisture mapping using meters, thermal imaging cameras, and dehumidifiers.
* Fire, smoke, and soot cleaning, odour removal, and full content restoration including pack‐out, cleaning, and storage.
* Mould assessment and remediation in accordance with IICRC S520 standards.
* Detailed moisture logs, drying records, scopes of works, and photographic documentation completed in job management software.
* Site hazard assessments and strict WHS compliance, including correct PPE use on every site.
* Professional and empathetic communication with property owners and insurance assessors.
* Care and maintenance of all restoration equipment including air movers, dehumidifiers, HEPA air scrubbers, and extraction units.
* Participation in the after‐hours on‐call roster with emergency response within agreed timeframes.
IICRC Certifications
* WRT – Water Damage Restoration Technician
* ASD – Applied Structural Drying Technician
* AMRT – Applied Microbial Remediation Technician
* FSRT – Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician
* OCT – Odour Control Technician
Licences and Compliance
* Current Australian driver's licence (manual) – essential.
* White Card – essential.
* Asbestos Awareness Training or non‐friable removal certificate – essential.
* National Police Check – essential.
* Confined Space Entry (RIIWHS202E) – preferred.
Qualifications
* Proven background in property restoration, building services, or a related trade.
* Strong working knowledge of IICRC S500, S520, and S770 standards.
* Confident with moisture meters, thermo‐hygrometers, and thermal imaging equipment.
* Physically fit with the ability to perform manual handling, ladder work, and work in confined spaces.
* Clear and professional communication skills with the ability to perform well in a client‐facing environment.
* Self‐motivated, dependable, and available for after‐hours emergency callouts.
