The RoleWithin the ICT Security function, an APS 6 ICT Security Specialist is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex information security work within an integrated workforce. They are responsible for ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and Defence mission and policy requirements.An APS 6 ICT Security Specialist works independently with reasonable autonomy and accountability for their outcomes. They exercise initiative and judgment in interpreting policies and applying practices and procedures.They provide detailed technical, professional, and policy advice related to complex work, contributing to strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development. They may lead or coach a team, setting work priorities and managing workflows.This role is eligible for an additional remuneration known as the Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP), which provides a premium in addition to the base salary for positions critical to Defence capability.
