The Opportunity

We're seeking a Workshop – Leading Hand to support day‐to‐day operations in our Mackay workshop. This role is 7 days on / 7 days off (Wednesday–Tuesday) and is 50% hands‐on, 50% leadership, supporting a team of 10–20 technicians, apprentices and trades assistants. You'll coordinate workflow, manage WIP, support safe work practices, complete Start Safe Reviews, lead 5S, review estimates, and ensure high‐quality repairs and component work. You'll also provide daily updates, compile job packs, and work closely with the Estimator, Supervisor, Parts and Service Admin teams.

Roster

7 days on / 7 days off (Wednesday to Tuesday) day shift only.

Annualised Wages

$133,000 - $156,000 base, plus super, plus tool allowance.

Role Located

Mackay – Bosso Street.

What We Are Looking For

* Trade qualification: Electrical Fitter, Auto Electrician or Diesel Mechanic.
* Mobile Plant Equipment experience.
* Strong leadership capability and ability to guide technicians/apprentices.
* Understanding of workshop operations, WIP, quality and safety.
* Ability to review estimates, identify parts/tooling needs and support job planning.
* Strong communication skills and a customer‐focused mindset.
* Commitment to 5S, continuous improvement and safe work practices.
