The Role: Supportive Education Assistant
We are seeking an experienced Education Assistant to join our team in the Junior School as soon as possible. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will be responsible for supporting students with special needs in the classroom (one on one) and assisting with their integration into daily school life.
This role requires a caring and patient individual who can build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You will need to have experience working with primary aged students and those with additional learning needs, as well as an understanding of principles and practice of student learning strategies.
Beyond your technical skills, you will be someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of students and contributing to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support students with special needs in the classroom, providing individualized attention and accommodations as needed
* Assist with lesson planning and preparation, ensuring that all activities are adapted to meet the needs of students with special needs
* Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure seamless support for students
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and adjust support strategies accordingly
Requirements
* Experience working with primary aged students and those with additional learning needs
* Understanding of principles and practice of student learning strategies
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team
* Proven ability to establish and foster relationships with students in a Junior/Primary School context
* Willingness to be actively involved in cultural, pastoral, and co-curricular activities
