Vanguard Mining have an exciting opportunity for a full‐time Project Engineer to join our growing business, based in Welshpool.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this is a hands‐on role at the core of project delivery, where you will take ownership of equipment packages from design through to commissioning. You will work across mineral processing and fixed plant projects, working closely with teams across sales, design, manufacturing, logistics and site to deliver high‐quality outcomes safely, on time and within budget.

About the role:
You'll be part of a small, hands‐on team with direct exposure to decision‐making and project outcomes.
* Take ownership of and coordinate the delivery of equipment packages from design through to fabrication, installation, commissioning and after‐sales support.
* Work with engineering and design teams to develop specifications and ensure compliance with Australian Standards, client requirements and safety regulations.
* Manage quality assurance across delivery, including vendor inspections and review of supplier documentation.
* Identify and resolve technical issues during project execution, commissioning and operation.
* Develop and manage technical project documentation.
* Work directly with suppliers and manufacturing partners to manage quality, timelines and delivery outcomes.
* Build strong relationships with key manufacturing partners.
* Work closely with the Project Manager to deliver budgets, schedules and risk outcomes.
* Undertake ad‐hoc site travel for commissioning and support, including local and international supplier visits.
About you:

* Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
* We welcome trade‐qualified candidates with strong practical experience who are looking to step into a Project Engineer role.
* Experience in project delivery within mining, heavy industry or mineral processing environments.
* Strong understanding of mechanical design, materials and manufacturing processes.
* Experience working with suppliers, vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
* Working knowledge of Australian Standards and relevant regulations.
* Strong communication, problem‐solving and stakeholder management skills.
* Proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership.
* Experience with project planning, scheduling or risk management is desirable.
