Advanced Midwifery Leadership Role
In this pivotal position, you will utilize your advanced midwifery skills and leadership capabilities to provide outstanding clinical supervision, ensuring the highest standards of woman-centred care across the continuum. Your responsibilities will include operational management of the unit, as well as providing advice and guidance on clinical standards in collaboration with senior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide advanced, evidence-based midwifery care in alignment with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia Decision-Making Framework.
* Lead and support a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional, consumer-focused maternity care.
* Maintain a safe environment by overseeing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care practices.
* Facilitate professional development and training opportunities for midwives and nursing staff to enhance their competencies.
* Actively engage in quality improvement and research initiatives to elevate the standards of care within the unit.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in evidence-based midwifery care.
* Ability to function effectively as both a team leader and team member in a multidisciplinary setting.
* Exceptional communication skills with a strong capability in negotiation and conflict resolution.
* Knowledge of quality and risk management principles as they apply to clinical practice.
* Familiarity with legislative obligations relevant to healthcare service delivery in Australia.
* Proficient in using computer systems for reporting and documentation purposes.
