About the Opportunity
Due to ongoing organisational growth, Central Australian Women's Legal Service (CAWLS) has a position for Local Link Senior Education and Project Officer in Alice Springs, NT, on a 1-year contract that may be extended.
Primary objectives:
Support the Education and Policy Manager to develop and formalise partnerships with primary healthcare providers such as GP clinics and allied health providers.
Develop and deliver tailored, ongoing, and scaffolded education and professional development for frontline staff within partner services to identify and respond to disclosures of domestic, family, and sexual violence (DFSV) and child sexual abuse (CSA).
Work with the Education Manager and Education Team to develop a clear process for audit and redevelopment of referral processes and resources to assist partner services in line with the NT Risk Assessment and Management Framework.
Conduct auditing and redevelopment of referral processes and resources to assist partner services, ensuring compliance with the established process.
Maintain continuous improvement and monitoring of service mapping and referral processes and pathways.
Provide secondary consultation support to partner services regarding identification of DFSV and CSA, risk assessment and risk management.
Assist with development and facilitation of a community of practice for frontline primary health care workers responding to DFSV and CSA in Central Australia and the Barkly.
Work with the CAWLS Education Team to fulfil obligations pursuant to funding agreements and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
About You
To qualify, you must hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA***** or TAE*****). Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of domestic, family and sexual violence as it affects women and children.
Experience as an adult educator and/or facilitator with excellent public speaking skills.
Experience in developing training using e-learning methods.
Significant experience in consultation and design of adult education, including training needs assessment and evaluation methods.
Demonstrated commitment to reducing barriers to access to justice for disadvantaged groups, particularly women and children at risk of domestic, family and sexual violence.
Demonstrated ability to draw on experience working with client groups who may be reluctant to disclose legal issues or domestic, family and sexual violence.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders in a professional and respectful manner.
Highly motivated, able to work well under pressure and prioritise competing demands.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Personal commitment to reflection and self-care to build resilience and minimise the impact of vicarious trauma.
Please note: This is a female-identified position under Sections 30 and 34 of the Sex Discrimination Act ****. You must hold a current NT Driver's Licence, Ochre Card, and pass a National Police Check.
