Job Title: Speech Pathology Team Lead
This role presents a unique opportunity to lead and mentor a team of speech pathologists, providing exceptional support and supervision to ensure high-quality services are delivered to individuals.
* The ideal candidate will have a strong background in speech pathology, with at least 5 years of clinical experience working with children with complex communication needs.
About the Role:
This is a full-time or part-time opportunity (0.8 FTE) for a seasoned speech pathologist who is passionate about leading and mentoring a team. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that a high-quality service is provided to individuals, maintaining a small caseload of children 0-8 years, and contributing to the early childhood team's professional development schedule.
* Provision of goal-directed speech therapy for eligible NDIS participants.
* Provision of family-centred therapy services for children 0-8 years in line with best practice early childhood intervention.
* Provision of speech pathology consultation to early childhood transdisciplinary key workers and contribution to the 'in-house' early childhood team professional development schedule.
* Provide advice, consultancy, and support to parents regarding their individual child's language and communication needs.
* Compilation of reports and letters for NDIS participants, other health professionals, and NDIS reporting requirements.
* Lead performance development meetings to identify ongoing training and support opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:
* Supervise and mentor the Speech Pathology team to ensure high-quality services are delivered.
* Develop and maintain a small caseload of children 0-8 years, providing best-practice early childhood intervention.
* Contribute to the early childhood team's professional development schedule, including providing speech pathology consultation to transdisciplinary key workers.
* Compile reports and letters for NDIS participants, other health professionals, and NDIS reporting requirements.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology.
* At least 5 years of clinical experience working as a Speech Pathologist.
* Current practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
* Demonstrated experience working with children with complex communication needs.
* Demonstrated competency and knowledge utilising formal and informal assessment tools.
* Ability to adapt communication style to suit different stakeholders.
* Strong leadership skills.
* Valid Australian Driver's Licence.
* Cleared Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC).
* Cleared National NDIS Worker Screen Check.
