Project Overview:

Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets. T he M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.

Job Summary:

As the Senior Planner, working out of our Brisbane office, you will support all planning / scheduling tasks. The Project is ideally looking for someone who has demonstrated skill in identifying, analysing, and providing innovative solutions to planning / scheduling problems. In this role, you will work with the project team to prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations. You will apply established unit job hour and pricing data, perform schedule integrations, prepare work logic, identify restraints and potential impacts, develop recovery plans, and evaluate subcontractor schedules for improvements. You will be instrumental in integrating information from various departments and presenting a robust proposal schedule.

This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership

Major Responsibilities:

Level 1

* Prepares schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations
* Establishes and maintains the schedule for a specific discipline area or specialty
* Performs schedule development duties to include establishing the work breakdown structure (WBS), determining the work activity duration, establishing the proper workflow logic ties, and developing the required job expenditure
* Performs schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialties
* Develops critical path schedule reports and schedule performance metrics
* Determines critical-path activities for assigned discipline or specialty work activities supporting interdisciplinary requirements
* Identifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule
* Monitors and validates subcontractor schedules
* Evaluates subcontractor schedules for required workarounds or potential schedule improvements

Level 2

* Applies established unit job hour and pricing data for a specific discipline or other specialty including estimating parameters, factors, indices, productivity, and craft distribution reference data
* Performs integration of individual schedules into the total project plan.
* Prepares performing organization's work logic in support of overall project schedule
* Performs schedule resource loading and leveling
* Maintains open communications with other organizations to support schedule maintenance and reporting
* Identifies schedule restraints
* Develops schedule recovery plans

Education and Experience Requirements:

Level 1

* Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Level 2

* Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

* Proficiency in using PC operating systems and multi discipline specific software applications (Primavera P6, Microsoft applications).
* Skilled in oral and written communication, with demonstrated ability to present Project Controls information to management/client.
* Demonstrated skill in identifying, analysing, and solving problems.
* Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes, as performed by Bechtel.
* Knowledge of current industry and technical developments.
