Leadership Opportunity for Information Services Manager

This is a challenging executive role for the position of Information Services Manager, reporting to the Corporate Director.

* Key Responsibilities:
* The incumbent will exercise both managerial and operational responsibility for the Information Services Department;
* Ensuring that Council's IS services and infrastructure support the organisation's operational plans including the planning, direction, control and evaluation of the ICT operation across a multi-site environment;
* Advising senior management on future ICT requirements and determining priorities for development and maintenance of the corporate computer environment through structured planning;
* Providing effective liaison between IS and all levels of management and employees within the Council on all matters relating to IS, and external parties as required;
* Responsible for ensuring network security and implementing IS disaster recovery measures identified in the Disaster Recovery Plan;

Our Ideal Candidate:

* We seek an experienced and well-versed Information Services Manager to provide strategic leadership for the Information Services Department.
* With a strong background in IS management, infrastructure operations and cloud-based technologies, you understand how to balance performance, security and user experience.
* You know how to implement governance frameworks that improve reliability and manage vendors, budgets and service expectations effectively;
* You also understand the importance of working collaboratively across departments and translating complex technical issues into practical solutions for diverse stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

* A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business or Management or a relevant discipline with significant and diverse experience in operational areas and management;
* Demonstrated leadership qualities with proven management experience within a relevant multi-disciplined environment;
* Proven ability to deliver and monitor budgets effectively;
* Extensive experience in information technology management, particularly in the implementation and management of financial systems, procedures and policies;
* High level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, accurate and practical advice;
* Ability to use current technology to manage systems and software;
* Current Queensland 'C' Class licence or equivalent.
