We are a large and very busy indoor play centre in north Geelong serving a variety of food from traditional play centre fare and healthy snacks, to restaurant quality meals including vegetarian and vegan options. We need an experienced, creative and hard working Chef / Cook to join our energetic team.
casual position leading to permanent full time in 6 months time
equal to full time hours
We are looking for someone with at least 1 year experience cooking in different styles and cuisines. We need you to be reliable, hard-working, proactive, organised, creative, patient and passionate about food and customer service. You will be able to work in a high-pressure, high-turnover environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be a team player and also able to work unsupervised. You will also be able to work a flexible schedule including days, weekends and public holidays.
Applicants must possess demonstrated experience in the following:
Food preparation, cooking, plating and presentation.
Kitchen maintenance and cleaning.
Maintaining and ordering stocks and supplies.
Supplier liaison.
Budget control.
Menu planning.
Following food safety requirements and holding relevant certifications.
A particular knowledge and experience with Vegetarian and Vegan food would be highly regarded.
