The Role
The Director Assets and Operations will lead a significant directorate delivering a wide array of services to the community covering Technical Services, Works and Community Facilities. Reporting to the General Manager, the role will involve inspiring leadership and stewardship characterized by innovation, collaboration and service. The successful candidate will be comfortable generating alternatives, visualising new possibilities, challenging assumptions and opening themselves up to new information. Additionally, you will foster strong partnerships with government agencies, industry stakeholders and the community to drive innovative and strategic urban development.
Responsibilities
* Lead a directorate delivering Technical Services, Works and Community Facilities.
* Partner with the General Manager and the Executive Leadership Team to provide inspiring leadership and sound stewardship.
* Foster innovation, collaboration and high-quality service across the organisation and community.
* Generate alternatives, visualize new possibilities, and challenge existing assumptions.
* Develop and maintain strong partnerships with government agencies, industry stakeholders and the community to support urban development initiatives.
About You / Qualifications
* Significant experience within the infrastructure arena with a track record of successful project delivery.
* Experience leading teams through periods of change and growth and building positive cultures.
* Advanced communication and advocacy skills; ability to develop effective partnerships across a diverse community.
* Familiarity with Local Government legislation is advantageous; understanding of broader social, political and economic issues in Local, State and Federal sectors.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field.
