The Opportunity

HenderCare has been a leading provider in South Australia for nearly 20 years, delivering safe, nurturing, and high‐quality care in stable environments to children and young people. We are excited to expand to sunny Queensland and are looking for Youth Workers who are engaging, energetic, and passionate about supporting children and young people.

Category: Field Worker. Location: Brisbane, QLD, AU, 4000.

About The Role

As a Youth Worker, you will work within our Residential Care services to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people, using the Hope and Healing framework to provide a therapeutic program that helps children and young people form positive beliefs about themselves, build trusting and respectful relationships, and contribute to their overall well‐being and development.

* Provide emotional support and guidance
* Support a child/young person's well‐being and development
* Act as a positive role model
* Provide school support with homework and projects
* Assist with daily routines and attend appointments
* Respond to and manage crises (including reporting)

About You

Eligibility Criteria

* Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (preferred)
* Certificate IV in Community Services
* Certificate IV in Youth Work
* Certificate IV in Disability

Minimum Training Required

* HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (within the past 3 years)
* HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate (issued within the past 12 months)

Required Clearances

* National Police Check
* Current Blue Card/Working with Children Check*
* NDIS Workers Screening Check*
* or if you are eligible to obtain a Combined Check for Blue and Yellow Cards

Other Requirements

* Relevant Australian working rights
* A current QLD Driver's License (P2 or above)
* Your own private vehicle that is fully registered
* A vehicle roadworthy report may need to be completed for vehicles over 10 years old
