Working within a team of IT professionals, the Assistant System Support Officer will participate in the systems testing process of application software releases of ICTsystems to ensure system integrity and operation in accordance with expected business use.
Your responsibilities
As an Assistant System Support Officer key responsibilities of the role:-
Support in planning and undertaking of test activities including preparation for and the execution of system test scripts, recording results and reporting issues.
Support in maintaining and developing all required documentation, including system test design, progress, system quality, test plans, test completion reports, standards, defect register, processes and procedures.
Contribute to the testing of new and existing departmental business computing systems.
Assist with providing work estimates in the evaluation of technical solutions to information systems testing and issues.
Have an understanding of test and defect life cycles, change management and quality management processes in order to assist in the development of innovative and appropriate solutions for information systems.
Provide timely assistance on basic technical issues relating to testing, maintaining and supporting existing information systems.
Use interpersonal communication to establish and maintain networks and working relationships with team members, clients and stakeholders.
Role specific/technical skills
Uses appropriate testing tools (TFS, MTM, VSTS), techniques, technologies, methodologies and frameworks for application testing, development and support that is compliant with industry best standards.
