Dementia Support Worker
About the job
In this role you will support and provide information to carers of people living with dementia and people with dementia. Provide dementia education to various stakeholders. This position helps promote local community awareness of dementia, available services etc. You will lead local dementia carer support groups. Upon commencement of this role you will be provided with orientation and will receive ongoing support from CNC Dementia and CNC Aged Care.

Requirements
* Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Physiotherapist with appropriate qualifications and / or AHPRA registration and / or membership to relevant professional body in NSW.
* Eligibility to drive in NSW.
* Experience working with people living with dementia and their carers.
* Ability to prioritise workload within a small team.
* Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills, working with diverse groups.
* Demonstrate professionalism in an empathic and caring manner.
* Understanding of dementia and ability to provide support for people with dementia, their families and carers.
* Understanding and provision of person-centred care in collaboration with clients, carers and service providers to achieve identified outcomes.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA).
