Looking for Qualified Sign Writer to join small Mackay team!

Our client is a family‑run shop known for quality work, friendly people and looking after local businesses - plus a growing list of interstate clients. If you enjoy practical work, variety in your day and a supportive team, you'll feel right at home here. We're looking for a hands‑on Lead Signwriter who still enjoys being on the tools. In this role, you'll guide a small installation team, help plan and deliver projects, and step in to fabricate, finish and install signage. It's a great blend of sign-making onsite work and practical leadership - busy, rewarding, and social.
Your new role
* Fabricating corflute/ACM signage, vinyl cutting, laminating and job packing
* Installing and maintaining indoor/outdoor signage, vehicle graphics and digital signs
* Preparing surfaces and ensuring client property is protected onsite
* Operating and caring for production equipment (wide‑format printers, vinyl cutters/plotters, laminators; CNC/router experience is a bonus)
* Mentoring junior team members and helping plan jobs to keep things on track
* Assisting with materials lists, basic quoting and maintaining a tidy, safe workshop
What you'll need to succeed
* Trade qualification in sign writing and relevant experience
* Must live locally in Mackay
* Contactable references
* Practical sign making and installation experience (you know your way around signs and installs)
* Comfortable working outdoors and at heights
* A calm problem-solver with a good eye for detail
* Able to work on your own or lead a small team
