Principal Network Security Architect
Salary range: $149,739 – $173,174 + superannuation and leave loading. Grade: 11/12. Duration: Ongoing. Location: Hybrid – two days a week in the Sydney McKell office (Tuesdays & Thursdays).
About the role
Join a dynamic cyber security team where your expertise will help protect critical networks and keep communities safe. In this highly technical and collaborative role you will play a key part in safeguarding critical infrastructure, working alongside a dynamic team passionate about keeping people and places safe.
Responsibilities
* Act as the Network Security SME within project teams, driving best‑practice security outcomes and providing expert guidance.
* Ensure projects achieve full compliance with cyber security standards and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with third‑party vendors to deliver secure, high‑quality solutions that meet agreed commitments.
* Develop and implement robust network security policies and controls to safeguard availability, integrity, and confidentiality.
* Align solutions with Telco Authority requirements to optimise security and performance.
* Provide critical operational escalation support to the Network Operations Centre and Security Operations teams to maintain resilience.
* Travel to various Data Centres as project dependent.
Qualifications
* Demonstrate Essential Security Clearance: ability to obtain and retain minimum Baseline Security clearance within six months.
* Design secure and scalable networks: lead design and implementation of resilient, high‑performance networks for critical government infrastructure.
* Communicate with impact: use outstanding communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Produce high‑quality documentation: deliver accurate design and as‑built documentation, including up‑to‑date network diagrams.
* Shape technology roadmaps: develop forward‑looking roadmaps that align with organisational goals and drive strategic outcomes.
* Stay ahead of the curve: maintain current knowledge of ICT, cyber security, and cyber risk trends, supported by relevant industry certifications.
